" On the roads for months and missing delicious Indian food, I chanced upon this cafe. Francisco and wife are a great team, good cooks and great company. We spent a delightful time in their restaurant and recommend it to fellow travellers and tourists. There's a happy energy in the restaurant which comes from the warmth and hospitality Francisco offers."

"We're British travellers on the road for two years and as such, we miss good curry. We got to Cusco and thought it might be a good opportunity to search out some Indian food. We were blown away by Cafe Carvalho - The curry was some of the best I've ever had in my life! Francisco and his wife were incredibly nice & friendly people, and we ended up returning to Cafe Carvalho three more times during in our time in Cusco! In short - cannot recommend highly enough - go as soon as you can and eat some of the best curry you'll have in your life surrounded by great people."

"Been craving for different cuisines.. and indian food in cusco?? are you kidding me? i was so excited!! and i was not disappointed.. i had the chicken curry and a pot of lemongrass tea.. oh boy that was a hearty meal.. I asked the owner that he can put extra heat for me.. and end up loving every spoonful that night... plus the owners were very welcoming.. they have so much options.. you can go crazy.. given the fact that those kind of spices are hard to get in peru.. producing a legit indian dish in the heart of peruvian gastronomic region.. is a challenge im happy they took! salute!! till next time!"
"My friends and we’re studying abroad in Cusco in 2017 when we stumbled upon Cafe Carvalho on our way home from class. Usually people are wary of ~15 American college kids walking into a restaurant, but Francisco immediately began pushing tables together and getting our drink orders. He took care of us like we were his family. After that day, we ate at what we simple called “Cafe” at least once a day for the rest of our time in Cusco. We tried everything on the menu and weren’t disappointed a single time. If you are looking for good food, a friendly atmosphere, and unparalleled service look no further than Francisco and Cafe Carvalho, tell him his Tennessee girl’s day hi and order the garlic bread (it’s our favourite!) If I’m ever lucky enough to be in Cusco again, Cafe will be my first stop!"

"Cafe Carvalho is wonderful. Located near the end of Maruri St. in Cusco, only a few minutes' walk from the central Plaza de Armas, it's homey, friendly and inviting. Its menu includes Western and Peruvian dishes as well as the best Indian food I've had in Peru, or for that matter almost anywhere. The samosas and pakoras, the Vegetable Korma and other meat and chicken curries are superb, with flavors so lively they almost make a Bollywood dance scene in your mouth. One of the most winning features of this place is the Indian-born owner, who goes by the name of Franco, and is one of the most likeable men you'll ever meet. His wife Denise has a smile that's practically a light source. She and her service team make sure to ask how spicy you want it, and they accommodate your vegan and other preferences. The prices here are very affordable for the quality you get. You can eat steeper and fancier in Cusco, but you can't eat better than at Carvalho."

"The waitress spoke great English and was very accommodating with me and my vegan needs. She assured me that my daal was made with coconut milk with no dairy. I'm not sure about the naan because I just remembered it now, but this place was great. I love the ambiance and all the different food selections from all around the world."
